Introduction (5 Mins)

Warm-up: Ask the students: "Who is a leader?". Briefly discuss the "Getting Started" diagram from the textbook.

Let's Talk: Ask students: "Why is determination important for a leader?" Encourage them to think about historical figures they know.

Main Activity: Reading & Exploration (20 Mins)

Step 1: Pre-Reading
Show the title "Great Caliphs of Islam" and ask students to name the four Rashidun Caliphs.

Step 2: Interactive Reading
The teacher will model-read the text with correct intonation, paying special attention to honorifics:

Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ): Known as the first man to embrace Islam and the first Caliph.
Hazrat Umar (رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ): Known as Al-Farooq (the one who distinguishes between right and wrong).
Hazrat Usman (رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ): Known as Zun-Noorain (Holder of two lights).
Hazrat Ali (رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ): Known as Asadullah (The Lion of Allah).

• Who was the first man to accept Islam?
• What is the meaning of Al-Farooq?

Student Practice (10 Mins)

Grammar Focus:

1. Vowel Sounds: Identify words from the text starting with a, e, i, o, u (e.g., elected, embrace, uncle).
2. Articles: Use 'a', 'an', or 'the' in sentences about the Caliphs.
3. Group Work: Assign each group one Caliph. Ask them to list one specific quality mentioned in the text about that Caliph.

Review & Summary (5 Mins)

Summarize the 30-year rule of the Rashidun Caliphate as a role model for the world.

Teaching Point: Remind students that we should follow the practices of these great leaders in our daily lives, showing kindness and courage.

• Writing: Write five sentences about the life of Hazrat Ali (رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ) in your own words.
